Project location: Langworthy, Salford
Client: Emmanuel Development Limited
Contractor: Fairbuild Construction (1972)
Type: Ecclesiastical Interior design
Context
TADW Architects were employed to design and administer a traditional contract for the completion of Emmanuel Church in Langworthy and the rectification of defects from the original building contract (which TADW were not involved with).
Design
Working closely with the client we were able to bring this long running construction project to a conclusion which works aesthetically, practically and acoustically. Central to the client relationship was enabling the Church congregation to take ownership of the space through fixtures, fittings and art following the tumultuous process of the original build.
Throughout the design and construction process, a keen eye was kept on the costs assocaited with the scheme to ensure that it was completed on budget. Through working closely with the principle contractor, Fairbuild Construction (1972) Limited, the project was also delivered ahead of schedule.
