Context
This was a Locally Listed complex of buildings just to the south of Stockport town centre which had fallen into disrepair and was in danger of being lost. We worked with the Local Authority and the client to save key parts of the structure, providing contemporary and affordable new homes in heart of the town
Design
The existing structures were converted and extended to form 51 new apartments. The quirky nature of the existing buildings meant that many of these had their own unique layouts, often featuring balconies, roof decks, and double height spaces. The scheme successfully brought modern accommodation into the town centre, whilst ensuring that the historic fabric of the borough was not lost.
