Context
Foxlair Court is one of a sequence of Independent Living Schemes that we have worked on with these clients. The brief has been to bring existing schemes up to contemporary standards, both in terms of fire performance and amenity standards. Additional complications were encountered in this instance due to the Covid epidemic, however the design and construction teams worked alongside the client to ensure that the project was delivered safely and to a high standard.
Design
We worked with the client and customers from the outset of our involvement to ensure that the finished scheme directly addressed the needs of the people who lived there. The cramped and unusable lounge was cleared of structural elements and opened up to a large new patio. Internally separate areas were created to accommodate a larger kitchen, a cafe corner, a snug and a TV lounge. Decoration along the corridors was completely revamped to provide a fresh and inviting hotel-style experience.
